ihollywood dance convention

What a fun trip to Chicago for ihollywood! Ellie and I carpooled with friends for the trip and it started out very exciting. The weather was bad and as we approached Lebonan the tornado siren went off; we just kept driving. Later we learned a small tornado touched down there...glad we made it through. After that it was a fun drive and and we stayed at a very nice Westin. We loved the place and started the weekend with a fun dinner at Harry Carry's. The girls got root beer in a bottle and that just made them giggle the whole meal:)
The next day the girls had a few classes followed by tryouts for scholarships. Ellie had to compete in the level above most of her group which was hard. She did make it through the first round and I was so proud of her!! Three girls from her group that were younger made it to the finals which was very exciting and a great life lesson for Ellie. She struggled to be happy for them at first, but came around and supported her friends.

After swimming for a while and watching some competition, we went to a wonderful dinner at an Italian restaurant. The girls played and laughed while the adults got to have a drink and talk. Sunday was another full day of classes followed by the faculty show.

It was a fun weekend and we can't wait to go again next year!
