The annual trip to Kings Island was squeezed into one of the last weekend's of summer, but we made it. Rick found an awesome hotel for us, so we left here on Saturday morning and spent the day touring the city and playing in the hotel. We slept in a little bit and had a nice breakfast at the hotel before heading to KI! Aliya's eye's were huge as we were pulling into the parking lot and she could see all the "wee's". All of the girls were excited and could not wait to ride, ride, ride!! Everyone was pretty brave this year. Each of them rode something that I was not sure they would. Being someone who loves to ride everything, I was excited!! Aliya could ride so many more things than I had anticipated. Her favorite was the Octopus, Ansley's favorite was the Racer, and Ellie's favorite was the new Wind Seeker.
The biggest excitement of the trip was probably the walk back to the car. We were pretty much ready to leave when a severe weather alert came over the loudspeakers. Ellie went into her total freak out mode and we started walking faster. We made it to the parking lot and then the sky opened and it POURED...it was raining so hard it hurt. The older girls and I tried to run ahead but still were soaked through our underwear by the time we got into the car. Rick carried Aliya and started to run when the rain came. Aliya said to him in a very calm flat voice "Daddy why are you running?" it was like she didn't even notice it was raining...:)
We always enjoy the weekend away and look forward to it every year!
