Ellie's First Dance Competition of the Year

Well it has finally come, Ellie's first dance competition with her new group Talent Too! We attended the DEA competition and convention a few weekends ago and it was so much fun! The girls loved getting all the fancy makeup on and getting to wear their new be-jeweled costumes. They were just giddy with excitment most of the day!

They performed their jazz dance, Let's Twist Again, first and then their tap dance, L.O.V.E. Love a few hours later. Ellie was just beaming, she loves to dance so much. They recieved a Gold for their jazz dance at the mid-afternoon award ceremony. We were very proud of them, especially considering this was the first time they have competed together. Ellie I have to say was slightly disappointed to not win Platnium. (levels are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platnium at this contest)

So when it was finally time to do the tap dance we were so excited! They did an awesome job! Mom's were crying and they were not even Mom's of our group, but of the older girls. Our girls smiled and really did their best! So....when the evening awards came the level of excitment was high and they won Platnium for their tap dance. It was such a fun exciting time for all of them. It was funny because their were so many dances and awards they had stopped paying attention and didn't even realize their name had been called. When they figured it out all 9 of them went crazy. It was priceless, I supposed that is what we pay all this money and time for :)

The following day was the convention dance class part and Ellie was in a great mood. The parents were not allowed in the room (which I prefer) so the girls went in and we didn't see them for 3 hours. They came out tired, but happy. The final awards were next and these were for individual effort/ability during the classes. To our surprise Ellie was awarded a dance scholarship!!!!! One of only two in her age division. She was just beaming, it really helped her self confidence! What a great weekend for us. (unfortunatley the scholarship is for a dance convention in Las Vegas so we won't be going)

I can't wait for the next competition because Ansley will be competing too!!!
