Seraphina the Snail

The tale of Seraphina the Snail...

Our neighbor found a little tiny snail a few days ago and gave it to Ansley. Ansley was so excited she rushed home to show me and found a little bowl to keep it in. The snail went through a list of names before landing on Seraphina. Ansley got some leaves for her and made sure she was comfy in her new home. Over the next couple of days Seraphina went everywhere we did. Ansley made her an obstacle course and always made sure she took naps. We even had to have the radio in the car off and were not allowed to talk so we did not wake up the snail. It was so cute, she asked me to watch Seraphina while she was at Vacation Bible School. I was given special instructions to keep her happy. Well, today after VBS Ellie suspected that Seraphina had died. I said she was probably right and so the sobbing from Ansley began. She was so heartbroken, I nearly cried. Then Ellie started crying and so went the afternoon. We had a burial for Seraphina and marked the spot with a craft stick. It really is pretty cute how upset she is. Now she wants me to find her a new snail and we researched what we would need to do to keep it alive. RIP Seraphina!
